Joe Kaufman, the Republican candidate for United States Congress looking to unseat Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has won the latest Tea Party straw poll.

Joe KaufmanThe poll took place, this past week, following a Tea Party debate between Kaufman and all but one of his primary opponents. During the debate, Kaufman took issue with his opponents’ soft stance on Iran. This is an important matter, given the fact that Iran is actively conducting war games with missiles that Iran openly admits can be used to target U.S. bases and Israel.

Yesterday, the people of Wisconsin sent a clear message to their politicians that they are looking for those in elected office to do the right thing and not necessarily the easy thing. This is a foreboding signal to the Obama administration that Americans cannot be lured into destructive policies simply because they will not have to face tough consequences.

Most importantly, though, the American people spoke out in favor of fairness and reason. They have recognized that the bullying tactics of public sector unions are destructive to the financial future of America. They have also recognized that current spokespersons for the White House have not always been honest with the voters.
