Joe discussed the crossover appeal he has with Democrats. He stated that, in order to defeat Wasserman Schultz, one has to be able to convince a number of District 23's Democrats why it’s important to cross party lines. Joe and others believe that his close connection to the two largest voting blocks in the district will do much to put him over the top on Election Day.

Joe Kaufman Helps Prepare September 11 Care Packages for the Troops While donning Dolphins teal and orange, Kaufman stated, "I am always happy to support the troops. They are risking their lives for us in the most hostile areas in the world. Sending them daily necessities, like toothpaste and toothbrushes, or snacks is the least we can do." He continued, "This event was also important, because of the day it was being held on September 11 has immense meaning to me. My life was changed due to the attacks that took place 12 years ago. We must never forget the lives that were lost in New York and D.C., and we must continue to demand answers from our government about what transpired in Benghazi, Libya on September 11 last year."
